Publication Description:
The Act prescribes for the necessity of a licence for fishing in the exclusive economic zone beyond the territorial sea of Myanmar. The Act prescribes rights and duties of fishers, the master of the boat, inspectors as well as the duties of the Director-General in relation to foreign fishing vessels. Failure to abide by the Law may result in either a fine or a term of imprisonment, all of which is subject to the offence that was breached.
