This research article describes the current policy and status of elephant conservation in Myanmar. The article provides general recommendations for a sustainable model of an Elephant Conservation Based Ecotourism ('ECBT') in order to aid elephant conservation and reforestation efforts, taking into consideration the welfare of mahouts.
