Subsidiary legislation under the Animals and Birds Act that deals with the licensing of farms in Singapore. 'Farms' are defined in s 2 of the legislation as 'any land or premises, whether enclosed by fencing or not, used for the keeping, rearing, breeding or boarding of animals or birds for commercial purposes'. Section 10 of the legislation gives the Director General power to issue directives as he thinks necessary for: the biosecurity and proper management of licensee's farm; the containment of spread of disease among kept animals or birds; the purpose of ascertaining whether kept animals or birds are diseased or have been exposed to disease.
